Here is a general overview of New Zealand/Silver Fox. In my opinion the superb homestead rabbit choice for sustainability.
They offer fast growth rates and a high meat-to-bone ratio. Silver Fox does are known for being excellent, calm mothers, and are docile and easy to handle, making them suitable for beginners or family homesteads. The cross often inherits better, denser fur than a pure New Zealand, making them useful for pelts. This cross is favored to produce thick, high-quality, dense fur (good for tanning) and good meat yield.

I raise pedigree Rex rabbits for show and meat.
I've been breeding rabbits for over 10 years. My family raises rabbits for arba shows and meat. I am very strict on temperament and quality.
I have 46 years experience in the breeding and raising of meat rabbits. I raise my rabbits as organic as possible. My breeds are New Zealand Red, Rex standard and mini mix and Silver Marten. I breed for litter size and great growth rates while having great temperaments. The NZ Red mixed with the silver Marten mixed with the Rex (standard) seem to have all the great points for meat. Very rare but I have 3 breeding bucks available right now and one female.
We are a ARBA registered rabbitry in Adrian, MI. We focus on blue, black, and broken New Zealand rabbits. We pride ourselves in having extremely friendly rabbits as we are still small enough to handle each kit born with us daily.
