At Tidewater Rabbitry, we raise our meat rabbits humanely using a natural, colony-style system that prioritizes quality of life. Our rabbits live in spacious, enriched enclosures with room to dig, socialize, and rest comfortably on clean, natural bedding. They enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and a balanced diet of hay, pellets, and garden greens to support healthy growth and well-being. We breed responsibly and handle all animals with care and respect, ensuring a low-stress environment from birth to harvest. Our commitment to ethical, humane practices means you can feel good about the meat you bring to the table.
We breed beautiful pedigree New Zealand rabbits on our family homestead in Eastern VA.
I have been breeding rabbits for 20+ years. Currently breeding crosses, varying percentages of NZ, Californian, Flemish and Rex, selecting for temperature hardiness, improved meat-to-bone-ratio, and temperaments. Frequently have quad and dual crosses, sometimes unrelated breeding pairs or trios. Many color coats, for ease of differentiation.
